  1. 1+ regulator/rectifier may have a shorted diode inside it. Unplug it to verify. You are testing for current draw correctly using your multimeter, don't do it any differently. Also check (unplug) the diode that protects the CDI from voltage spikes from the solenoid. Its up front in the junction box I think..? EDIT: I can't remember... does 300s have a small diode in the Neutral light circuit like the old TRX350s had? If so check that using a multimeter. Current should flow only one direction through a diode.
  2. You could also attach the side panels to the trailer bed in a fold-down fashion using quick-release hinges. In that manner the sides could be lowered to extend the trailer bed area to make the flat pack both longer and wider.
  3. What ever happened to your Zip-tie 300 build @Mac102004? That was a fun looking project!
  4. The best Polaris models are those that are the easiest to tow back out of the woods! 🙂 I've had to tow three of them out this summer with My Rancher, one of them I towed twice in the same afternoon!
  5. Lets move this thread to the Custom Builds - Restorations forum, ehh? EDIT: Move completed
  6. Might be worth a shot if ya can show us the wiring diagram? Or you can mail that control box to me to refurb if it unplugs easily and is removable?
  7. Don't forget to test for continuity through the shift switches using a multimeter while the connector is unplugged.
  8. I'll look into adding those pre-defined options to the Menubar when I find some free time @mrbb. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
  9. There is a block that can be added that shows total members. I had it up originally, but it shows some of the same info that the current block does. I will add it to the bottom of the home page right now so y'all can see what I'm talking about.

  12. @toodeepis right, that bike don't have an ignition shutdown in the alarm unit. Even if it did, when you unplugged a grounded oil temp sensor you'd get spark again. First thing ya wanna do is measure the resistance across the oil temp sensor. The spec is 9.5k ohms to 10.5 k ohms at room temperature (~68 degrees F). If your sensor measures out of range by 10% or more, its junk. Next thing is to test the alarm unit assuming the wiring harnesses and connectors are in good condition. But the ignition system operates independently from the oil temp alarm circuit. Diagnose the ignition separately using the service manual to guide ya step by step. Just in case someone swapped parts on ya.... china ignition parts don't work (they supply AC CDIs, LOL) on that bike. EDIT: FYI: A China ignition coil will fry your OEM CDI as well, due to low primary windings resistance in all china coils, which overheats the OEM CDI, blows a smoky hole in the bottom of them and the motor stalls. Only foolish & wealthy folks can afford to buy china. 🙂
  13. Someday when I find time (not soon) I'll write a ES Prep tutorial. Yours has multiple problems. Start by replacing the chewed wiring harnesses and use dielectric grease inside every connector on the bike. Then disassemble the shift motor completely and remove the reduction gears, disassemble the shift switches, clean & dielectric grease the contacts in the shift switches and reassemble. Clean the shift motor rotor and magnets housing using warm water and dish soap and flush them with 90% alcohol to dry them. Then use #2 synthetic grease to lube each bearing/bushing/seal in the shift motor housings. Use small alligator clips to hold the two brushes back while you put the armature in, then remove the clips. Coat thinly the rubber o-ring gasket around the base with Ultra-black gasket maker. Smear a very thin film of Ultra black inside the end of the magnets housing where the o-ring gasket will seat. Hold onto the end of the armature shaft tight while you lower the magnets housing over the armature and seat it down against the reduction gears housing. Start the bolts in it and snug them up finger tight. Then repack every reduction gear bearing with #2 synthetic grease using your finger to push grease past the metal shields. That'll take ya 20 minutes or so to pack them right. Then coat every reduction gear with syn grease and lubricate the rubber housing gasket and torque the bolts carefully a bit at a time in a criss-cross pattern until each are snugged up. Do not overtighten any of those bolts. Seal the rubber gasket on the angle sensor using a thin film of Ultra-black and snug up those screws. Dielectric grease the connectors and plug them in. Loosen the ground cables on the motor and frame and clean & dielectric grease them before bolting them down tight. Finally, replace the battery with a new one, properly sized. Yours is junk. You'll need a copy of the service manual, a new wiring harness, new battery, dielectric grease, #2 syn grease (Mobil 1 in a 1 lb tub is about $10), two alligator clips, a bottle cleaning brush, cleaning solvent, dish soap & warm water, a pint of 90% rubbing alcohol, Ultra black, A clean scotchbrite pad, standard tools and many, many hours of free time. If ya skip steps or slack off on it you'll get to do it all over again. Its easy work... :-)
  14. If you want those custom Streams pre-defined and available globally for everyone? Y'all open a thread in your Members forum and decide exactly what you want and I'll try to add them to the menubar for ya. No promises though... I'm a rookie.
  15. Yeah its easy, you create activity streams customized to display unread content according to your preferences. Those Streams remain persistent until you edit or delete them. Click on Activity >> My Activity Streams >> Create New Stream Type in the Name for your Stream then configure from the available search criteria how you want your data Stream displayed. Save it. Then go back to the Activity menu to find your saved search Stream. This next example provides all Unread content submitted during the last 48 hours. You can choose Unread content by number of Hours, Days or Weeks. Now there are two search Streams to choose from in the Activity menu Create as many Streams as you like configured exactly how you want each of them to display. Hope this helps? If not ya got every right to call me Cricket. 🙂
  16. Pics taken today heading out to prep a new trapline for a friend. Ist year Rancher ES with almost 5600 miles on it. Creamsicle hasn't been washed yet in 2019. 🙂 Warn #2500 winch on modded KFI mount Dirt Devil 25s Inspired by @Jeepwm69 - 2005 400AT selectable front diff swap. 100% OEM parts in this conversion except for a homebuilt dual regulators, adjustable diff coil voltage (with digital voltmeter built in) submersible gizmo Bigger bore/piston/reservoir Rincon dual-switches Master Cylinder & sub-harness @Melatv's Start-in-any gear Mod adapted to work with the ES ECM & Display @wheelsquad's and I's Honda cooling FCU replacement gizmo project - custom designed & homebuilt STM8 micro-processor controlled digital oil temp display/cooling fan control unit. Realtime oil temp monitoring with handlebar mounted user adjustable on the fly fan kick-on/kick-off temp points. Submersible Waterproof connectors soldered onto each custom wiring harness addition A few more mods are planned for this bike. OEM 420 disc brake conversion is due up next. Another custom gizmo idea is planned after that one. Then a custom designed (using Hornresp) sound system with homebuilt amplifiers, subwoofer & satellites enclosures after that. Someday I need to mount a Yeti and one of @Fishfiles drink holders as well. 🙂
