  1. I've done this once. LOL Nice! Probably a 3K bike around here. Prices on good used bikes have gone up (along with prices on new bikes and parts!)

I think I have a black plastic stock here if you want it. Be a lot less work than sanding down a wood one! And guilty as charged on the pics. Here's a youtube video on one of them. Neat little things.
  3. That's it on a Rubicon. Is that an OEM sensor or aftermarket? Did you align the flat spot on the sensor with the flat spot on the peg it slides onto? Have you tried re initializing the system?
  4. Nice. I need more info on that drilling setup. Looks like something we might need someday!
  5. Did you use a Honda angle sensor or is it ebay/amazon chinese garbage?
  6. Happy Bday man. Had to eat my lunch before 11AM this morning after looking at this thread. Made me hungry!
  7. Just reread your post above. You have a Rancher FA6, not a Foreman. My guess is they're the same now that Honda has started using so many of the same parts for Rancher and Foreman. The 09-11 Rancher AT manual might be good to cross reference with that Foreman manual if you have limited success. Start a new thread with what your Rancher is doing. Wife has an 09 I bought as a basketcase so I've wrestled with one quite a bit. @Melatv is a guru on these things when it comes to electrical issues.
  8. There's an even cheaper and better option!
  9. Good grief, why not just buy some new cables? You can have them made easily enough, or even buy them on ebay ready made.
  10. Yep, the 2016 Foreman manual says it's for FA6 models, will be the same as your machine.

I picked up a takedown 10/22 yesterday. Had to drive about an hour to get one in stock, but as cheap as it was it was worth the drive. Neat little gun. With the padded case it will be handy to strap to the front rack when riding.
  12. Contact this guy. He actually rebuilds the Hondamatics.
  13. Correct. My guess is you have a poor connection on the 4th and 5th gear wires at that junction. Ohming out the gear position switch will tell you that.
  14. Unplug the gear position switch and ohm it out at the plug to see if it's the switch itself or a poor connection where the switch plugs into the main harness (that square plug that's a ! to get apart). You can find directions in the factory service manual download up in the toolbar at the top of the home page of this forum. My 09 doesn't read 3rd gear sometimes. Other times it does. Only thing it hurts it that the "start in gear with the brake lever pulled back" does not work if there isn't a gear displayed. You won't get spark.
  15. The wirring sound is normal on the Hondamatic bikes. When you mention the drill clutch when it stops torquing, is that like a popping/ clicking noise?

    Iphone-8

That apple battery is 99.9% made in china LOL Iphones are made over there.
  17. Well I had a crapton of parts around, but I might end up regretting building it since the little bits are what ends up adding up to $$$ (as you well know). Just ordered $100 worth of odds and ends from RM. Clamps, boots for air box, negative battery cable, etc. That little stuff really adds up quick.

Heads up shooters. Another round of clearance on guns at some Walmarts. Ruger 10/22 ($139) and 10/22 takedowns. ($184) https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker?sku=2685522 https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker/?sku=36931210 Henry Levers (44 mag is $399). https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker/?sku=2685515 Savage Axis rifles are $124-199. https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker?sku=17656099 https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker?sku=17656101 https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker?sku=17656099 https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker?sku=121332628 https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker/?sku=170192044 Remington 700 ADL in 223 with scope is $199. https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker/?sku=17654668 Remington 770 with scope $190 https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker?sku=17656099 https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker?sku=17474415 Mossberg 835 $249 https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker?sku=21692520 Varies greatly by store. If the price is less than retail, but more than what's shown above, then another drop should happen any day to roughly 50% off. "Limited stock" means they show at least one in the inventory system. "Out of stock" means zero on hand. Not really anything I was interested in other than the 10/22 takedown, and none in stock around me. Good luck!
  19. I can see all your pics Shade.
  20. I'm about 1/2way through getting this one put back together, but figured I'd post up as I'm sure I'm going to run into some snags before I finish it. It started off as the tan bike on the trailer. Bought two wheelers from a guy in Central AR several months ago. One was a 2012 Rubicon that "runs great but doesn't pull" and the other was a "parts bike" Get over there and the parts bike is an 08 500ES with PS. No wheels and tires, missing right knuckle and CV, rigged junk muffler, no carb, meter, tank covers, and a bunch of other misc stuff. That said, there was still enough for me to rebuild it since I have a bunch of 500 parts around. So I stripped it to the frame. Rear end was seized up. Took it apart, ran it through the parts washer, and surprisingly enough, bearings were still tight, gears looked good. My guess is the thing had just been sitting for a long time with goop in the diff. I thoroughly cleaned it and oiled the bearings and it spun over like a new one. I did replace the left rear axle bearing and seal. It had some slack in it. Engine was seized. Had to hammer the piston out of the cylinder. Valve cover was cracked around one of the rocker shafts. Must have jumped time (according to Shade). No worries, already had a footshift motor rebuilt with a new crank, new top end. Of course, that meant finding a footshift wiring harness and handlebar switch assembly, which I did. Same guy (here in Arkansas) had a meter too, so got both of those things from him. I'm keeping the tan/ camo fenders. Have a good set of green fenders I'll put on it, save the tan ones for one of my own machines. It was missing the tank covers and kick start cover. Found the tank covers (dang camo plastics are pricey!) but haven't found a used kick start cover yet. Front diff was good. Replaced the CV's, and put a good set of knuckles with good bearing and ball joints on. Little stuff is eating me up. Rear brake cables (both), choke cable, reverse cable were all gone or cut. Airbox boots and air filter metal can were missing. Calipers were seized so they had to be replaced. Brake MC was bad, etc etc etc. Finished hooking up the carb this morning, and added oil. Have to get a neg battery cable (missing) and hook a battery up to it and I think I'll be right to fire it up. Assuming it starts up ok, I'll still have to put fenders on, bleed front brakes, put rear brake back together, and add racks, floorboards etc. It's definitely had a rough life, but a 500 footshift with PS ought to bring good money when I finish going through it with the current used market.
  21. I let my neighbor ride one of my 500's one day. Has 27" Executioners on it. He tried to do a slide/fishtail when he came to a stop. Executioners don't fishtail on gravel. He rolled it all the way over, broke my winch controller, dumped the cooler out all over the ground. He doesn't ride my stuff anymore.
  22. Yep, someone wanted parts for a similar machine. Only thing that makes sense with what was taken and what wasn't.
  23. Bread trick work on those? I think heating the case they'll fall right out, but if not, you could try the bread trick. I'd do that before I'd get a HF blind bearing puller.
  24. Did some nosing around last night. The gear on the Rubicon that meshes with that 40 tooth gear on the Rubicon is a 20 tooth gear, and it's the exact same factory part number as the 20 tooth gear on the 450 Foreman, so that explains while the gear mesh isn't an issue.
