    The 57 is an N frame, which is the heavy frame that that was designed for the magnums. The common N frames were the 27 (357 mag), the 29 (44 mag aka Dirty Harry) and the 57 (41 mag). The 19 is a K frame, which was a little smaller and lighter. The K frames were 17 (22 LR), 14 (38 Special) and 19 (357 mag), and the 16 (32 magnum).     My experience with lasers is I spend too much time trying to mess with the dot and see where it is. It's a lot faster to just use the sights and shoot (for me). I had an Eotech for awhile. Then found out the POI changes with temperature swings, and the manufacturer offered to buy them back for what you paid for them, so I sent mine back. I really liked the sight though and hopefully they'll fix the issue in a newer model and I'll get another one.

    Yeah I don't even like shooting a 44. Not pleasant. A 357 or even a 41 magnum isn't bad, but you can keep the .44. I always wanted a S&W 57. Never got one, and prices on them are full retard now.
  4. Hard to tell from the pic, but I would guess it is. I just buy several used OEM solenoids at a time from ebay sellers I trust (PSN, few others). Used they're usually $5-6 shipped.
  5. Looks like a Foreman 400 and 450 are the same. Do you need a specific shifter for those models or just a shifter that fits the splines?
  6. That's gonna be tough to find cheap. The 2012-2013 Foreman is a two year only odd duck, so not many being parted out, and new parts for them are high as heck. If I were you I'd save a search on ebay for both the part number and the description and hope one pops up cheap. Shipping from Honda East Toledo or Rocky Mountain ATV won't be cheap on an oversized item like that so if you have to have one quickly, you might just have to bite the bullet and buy one from your local dealer.

  9. Still chipping away at this 08 Foreman I picked up a while back. I got my load of cylinders back from the machine shop, so this morning I put the top end on the rebuilt bottom end I had in the shop and got it installed in the frame. On this one I had to tear the whole thing down. Rear end was seized up, rear brakes seized, front CV was missing on one side and bad on the other. I tore it down to the bare frame, treated all the surface rust with Phosphoric Acid, painted with gloss black implement paint, and now I'm putting it back together a little at a time. Here's the "like I bought it pic". It's the tan one with no wheels and tires. New/used wiring harness and start/headlight switch because I'm converting it from an ES to a footshift. Had to replace the meter with a good used unit. Rear diff has been gone through, new rear brake cables, cam, seals, and shoes going on. New/used master cylinder and calipers installed, brakes bled. Engine has been rebuilt (new crank, timing chain, 09-up first gear, seals, and top end). Front diff looked ok and I replaced the CV's with good used OEM axles. Put some different upper a-arms with good bushings and ball joints on. Next up is valve adjustment, install exhaust and carb, and then I'll be able to make sure it runs ok.
  10. Those diffs have gotten pricey new. When you put it back together, slop a bunch of grease on those splines which should keep the water and mud out so you won't have the problem in the future.

    We had a frog floater on the 4th. Probably got a couple of inches of rain in a half hour. We were headed to my buddy's who just put in a pool, and the bottom dropped out right as we pulled up to his house. Almost overflowed his new pool! LOL. Skeeters were horrible while we tried to watch fireworks, and the kid was tired from the long day so we headed home about 9:30. You could hardly see driving through town from the smoke from all the fireworks.

  13. Read this same process, except the 02-04 front driveshaft apparently makes for a VERY tight fit. When Shade did this to a bike he ended up shortening the front driveshaft an inch or so. @SamUK did it without shortening but said it was a super tight fit.
  14. Yall crack me up. I paint the wheels black, and it gets on the tires. The first time it's off in the mud, most of it, if not all of it, comes off the rubber.
  15. Glad he got it back. Is it trashed? My father in law's Rubicon was recovered the same way. Cop lit up a guy riding a gravel road, guy bails and leaves the 4wheeler sitting there running. They run VIN, call my FIL, and he goes and gets it. It had been ridden hard and put up wet. They ragged the crap out of it and apparently just ran over whatever happened to get in their way. All kinds of bends and cracks in it.

    The biggest fallacy for ANY gun control is the idea that criminals, who by definition break the law, will abide by any gun control laws. You can't uninvent them. You can't keep illegal contraband from the hands of criminals. So the ONLY people that gun control laws affect are the law abiding.
  17. Around here people shoot their guns up in the air like we're in some third world craphole country. What the idiots don't worry about is where those slugs come down. We've had a few leaks at work and recently the roofer went up to investigate.....bullet holes. Be interesting to see if the idiots still do it with ammo prices being what they are.

    Blue is shiny (polished). Matte is a dull finish, and black is too. Camo is self explanatory. According to this, all the Mavericks are blued. https://www.mossberg.com/category/series/maverick-88/ Definitely not a high polished blue, but what Mossberg considers blue. The receivers on the Mossbergs are anodized aluminum, so they aren't really blue or any other typical gun finish.
  19. People badmouth slime but I've used it quite a bit and more often than not it works! Aluminum wheels were only used on Rincons and 01-11 Rubicons. I use the dawn and water in a spray bottle to find leaks. The dawn makes the leak very apparent as it bubbles up.

    Anything under 18" inches will get you in hot water with the ATF. If you do it yourself I'd leave a little over that just to be safe. I would buy a cheap barrel, sent it to this guy, and have him cut it down and reset the bead on the front. He does great work, fast turnaround, and is cheap. He does not respond to emails. He will occasionally answer the phone. I followed some instructions I thought were iffy, which were "Just mail him your barrel with what you want done and he'll do it and email you an invoice when he's done, or you can put a blank check in there made out to him and he'll fill it in when he's done" That sounded way weird, but he's put choke tubes in a couple of older shotguns for me, and cut down and reset a ramp and bead on one and everything went without a hitch. He apparently likes doing the actual work but not so much the "dealing with the public" part of the job. LOL $20 plus shipping each way isn't much to pay to have the bead reset and have the work be done perfectly.
  21. I've noticed prices have jumped lately on new and used machines. That's what happens when a few trillion dollars are created out of thin air and dumped into the economy. I'm sure production and delivery has been slowed down as well. The question is, will they drop back down, or will they stay up?
