Good grief you guys have a special tool for everything! I use a floor jack. Jack the rear up using the diff skid, jack the front up just in the middle of the frame under the front diff. If I need to get all 4 wheels off the ground I use jackstands under the rear axle and under the frame right in front of the engine.

Bad Boy is out of business, so finding parts for it could prove interesting. Hopefully batteries are all it needs. Keep them charged, full of distilled water, and they should last a long time. Tap water will kill them much faster.

Glad you're ok. If you weren't moving fast I'd replace the wheel and if it tracks ok, ride it.

Flywheel puller, impact, 3 jaw puller to get the clutch off. That along with metric sockets and wrenches and you should be able to do it. Flywheel puller is the only "specialty" tool you really need. The impact and 3 jaw puller you use for all kinds of stuff.

In the video it sounds like my daughters 300 that had a dead cell in the battery. I still think it’s a starter/electrical issue.

He sent me videos of it spinning over fine with the head off, but when you put the head on it acts like it doesn’t want to turn over, like the starter doesn’t have the power to do it. He sent me videos but they are .mov format

I talked to Jeremy and referred him here. He’s working on an 05 500 footshift. Spins over great with the head off, but when he puts the head on it won’t turn over/starter struggles. He’s swapped on a known good starter (several actually) and also swapped a top end off of a running 500. Same result. Stumped me. Sounds like a bad battery or starter to me. In the videos he sent on bookface he was using jumper cables to turn the starter over. I suggested he run reg lines and attach them with nuts, but he’s rebuilt a few engines and this one stumped him.

Let me look. I have a slew of 350 Foreman carcasses and might have an extra shifter. If the splined part is the same size as a 400/450 I'll send you one.

Wellll, not sure what to tell you, but I thought that the chart might be wrong, so I just called Smith and Wesson, gave them the serial number, and they verified 1978. Is it possible your Dad had another one at some point? 1 (800) 331-0852 is their number. They'll tell you the DOM if you call them, in case anyone else has one lying around they want to date. I have books for S&W and Colt around here somewhere, but couldn't find them so I looked them up online.

Nice. What is the serial number? (Use XXX for the last three numbers) I can figure out what year it was made. In my experience the earlier the better Fish I can do the same for that 19

If it was a Smith and Wesson model 16, then yeah, those are very uncommon. That's a nice little 19. Wouldn't be fun to shoot magnums out of it with that short barrel, but it'd be a great carry gun. Practice with some 38 special wadcutters and it will be fairly pleasant to shoot. I always wanted a 19 with a 6 in barrel in blue, but never found one in mint condition from the early days when they were still making fine firearms. Prices have shot straight up now so doubt I'll ever get one.
