  1. Definitely need to start hanging thieves again. I don't care if they steal a $5 item. If it doesn't belong to you, leave it alone!

One thing I taught my kids early on....man can build some amazing feats of engineering, but NOTHING that man builds will ever beat nature. Nature always wins.
  3. Yep, lot of the 300 guys who build bigger machines use the 300EX carb with the big bore kits

Nope. Nope Nope Was a little cool here yesterday, but pleasantly so. I sat on the patio in shorts and a tshirt and was comfortable. Cool enough that the skeeters weren't too bad.
  5. Good deal! I've gotten a front and rear fender for a 300 from them but I ordered them separately and 300 fenders aren't that big, so they didn't ding me either. My guess is is slid through the cracks. No way they didn't lose money shipping 500 fenders free. When Paulie was still at Honda East I saw a screenshot of my order and noticed one of the boxes said "cost + 20%", and his prices were usually about in line with Partzilla (little cheaper, but not much). Point being, on a $120 Fender, that's not nearly enough markup to cover shipping on something that size. Better go buy a lottery ticket!
  6. Yep, I like 26's on a stock 05-11 Foreman. The stock 25's almost gear it a little too low.
  7. No need to unless you go up several tire sizes. Those old 350's are geared so low they could probably turn 28's with no GR if you could fit them on the bike.
  8. Gear reduction. Your 350 is geared very low from the factory. Some of the newer machines need gears swapped in to be able to effectively turn bigger tires. For example, my 09 Foreman came from the factory with 25" tires. If I want to run 28's on there, that's about a 12% increase in size. To get me back to stock final gearing I'd need to install a GR in the motor (in the case of that era foremans, a 15.5% reduction is available). On a truck or Jeep, you swap the gears in the differentials if you want to run bigger tires. On ATV's, you swap either the clutch gears or the secondary gears in the engine to change up the gearing.
  9. I put 26" Mudlite XL's on the kid's 300, and honestly I feel like it could use a small GR. I've run 26" Mudweisers on one without issue, so light 26's or a GR for anything bigger or heavier for me.
  10. LOL. I've been running them on my 09 Foreman for 5-6 years. I did blow a ujoint when I was driving through/ over some ruts one day. Rear wheels were spinning and when I dropped in the rut I heard a clatter and the rear end quit pulling. Other than that they haven't caused me any problems. They are heavy though. VERY heavy.
  11. Thanks for the update and the thread Reebs. At some point someone will have the same problem and hopefully a net search will bring them here.
  12. Now you know you can't just say "It's out" without telling us HOW he got it out!
  13. Rincons haven't really changed 2006 to now. They have high gears, only 3 speeds, and lack real engine braking on hills. They shine on the trails. The IRS and power make them great trail rigs. For $1K, you can't go wrong.
  14. Messed with this one a bit over the weekend. I discovered that the wheel pattern is 4x110, so a set of old 300 wheels and tires (11's with 24" tires) fit perfectly.....almost. I discovered that those busted plastics weren't the only damage. When I tried to put the front tires on, the right front wheel is pushed back and hits the frame. Crap. So, going to have to figure out how to get that right front side pulled back out. I have a giant heavy 6 foot pry bar (railroad tool) but the problem is, figuring out where to pry. Another thought is to chain the thing to a tree and use one of my 8K Jeep winches or a come-along (the Jeep winches are fast, so probably be safer to use the come-along). That said, the only part I've bought for the thing is a front sprocket to gear it down a little to pull the bigger tires ($45). Just need to figure out the best way to attack this tweaked front frame. The 2nd pic shows that the thing is twisted, and the first pic obviously shows the bar pushed back. This is a single a-arm with a shock mount

Dang, that's some serious water. We had a heavy, heavy rain here yesterday early afternoon, but only lasted about 15 mins.
  16. Question....why did you swap in the OEM steel tank instead of keeping the aftermarket plastic tank? After years of messing with rusty fuel systems in old Jeeps, I much prefer a plastic tank.
  17. I'm gonna JB Weld some OEM brake shoes on there. LOL They'll be here Wed.
  18. You got the gear position switch 180 degrees out. Pull the back cover off. Look at the T coming off of the switch on the inside of the rear cover. The long side of the T has to be pointed to the "N" printed on the switch. The end of that T slides into the slot on the end of your shift drum, so when you shift gears, the drum turns that T, which is the gear position switch. Make sense?
  19. If you're like me though, you still want to do something to make the old ones usable. LOL
  20. Fixed it for you fish. And @professorpg are you having trouble from your 424 or were you just curious about it? Bearings and seals can be bought separately on ebay. I bought a used one and rather than spend $100+ on a rebuild kit I just bought new bearings and seals, and cleaned and lubed the old cable. For your particular machine I like this mod. Several of us have done it on the 350 Ranchers.
  21. Yep. sounds like the slide is either sticking or has a hole in it.
  22. If the machine is that nice (assumption based on the miles) you could always buy new plastics for it, or find some nice used ones. If you went green it holds up MUCH better to age.
