    • Looks like a good close match! From what i can make out….
    • What do ya expect ? According to you… he never uses any of that stuff… I can’t get my head wrapped around why he didn’t choose to use that diesel (Cummins isn’t it) powered gen set when ya’ll lost power during one winter blast….. or at least i think that’s right ? didnt your mom give him the eyeball over that one ? lol!! My pop wont let me touch his classic Chevy pickup… so… ya i kinda know… I don’t get an eyeball…. I get told no way in !!!!..you’d think people would get over ones own (PAST) bad driving history … NOPE….
    • Looking to see if this can be repaired or if someone has it for sale. It lights up but appears like a dark shadow over the numbers. I can make out some numbers but not that good.
    • Shadetree, thank you very much for the guidance.  I should’ve mentioned the valves….not sure if they needed it, but I pulled each of them out after numbering them, inspected, cleaned off the carbon buildup, and lapped them.  Valves didn’t appear to be bent.  All the springs and collets went back where they came from.  I’m obviously far from an expert, but I feel the valve train is in good shape.  However, if you think I need to reinspect them, I’ll certainly make the effort. I generally try to look for worn parts or abnormalities during tear down so I know what I may have to order, but I know there are certainly several things I could’ve missed in my inexperience.  For what it’s worth, the dowels that recess in the head just outside the cam bearings were hard to put in….especially the one on the right side.  It’s going to be several weeks before I can get back to it, but I’ll follow up with you now that I know more what I should focus on.  Thank you again for your advice!
    • Well, got around to busting the front tires off the rims. Played around with some paint I found on the shelf today, hit one of the spare front wheels with a wire wheel and sprayed a coat on really quick just to see how it came out. It’s a bit too shiny I think, the picture doesn’t really show the paint mismatch. I’ll let it bake in the sun tomorrow and see how it comes out.   I think I’m gonna mount the mud lites up on these spare wheels, and keep them in the corner just in case.
