We mostly are meat hunters in Alaska, the game is wild, there is no feeding or attracting, except for bears. I don’t bait Bears. We have Caribou and Moose around in pretty good numbers, it is all fair chase. The only trophy type hunting we do is the white Dall Sheep, they are high in the mountains. The sheep meat is probably the best wild game meat we have. The weather can make sheep hunting a real challenge. There are very few roads, so boats, planes, ATVs and snowmachines are how we get out to hunting ares.

As the title suggests.......this was the best day ever. A few years ago we talked about our favorite things to do. I said it was a great day when I ride, shoot and smoke meat. That's what I did today.......in addition to that my two daughters were here with there husbands. That made it the best day ever. Merry Christmas everybody.

Jeep, I can agree with you some of the older win's were pretty accurate rifles in .22's but I shot a few things better , all the more so when I get into the .22 mags my old Mossberg Chuckmaster 640 , was and is amazing for how old and how many rounds down the barrel, it out shoots all my newer one's as for lever guns, well, I have/had a few here are two I just let go of to a fellow down south( Louisiana) last month! one was a Old Marlin 336, (30/30)from 1949, second yr production and the other is a older Marlin 1889, from 1890, second yr gun as well never shot either to say how accurate they were however, but are classic guns in my eye's and I love aged wood on them, and all the more so, I knew the whole story on both of them, the 1889 was bought by a friends grandfather NEW< and he bought the 336 new himself in 1949 which to me adds value to things as honestly these days, these old guns, most times have been sold several times over, so finding them from original owners is getting hard to do!, or just finding the old owners still alive to tell the stories of them sorry not a great pic of the 30/30, but was pretty darn clean for the age! new owner is very happy with both of them and a shotgun he took off my hands as well a beretta 687 ultra light deluxe, also a low produced gun, but of modern times, or late 90's any how more likely one I rill regret letting go over a lot of the others I sold recently! LOL as they are almost impossible to find, and this was like new in box yet, not a mark on it, yet used on a few great hunts out west also used it on the first hunt with my last dog and his last hunt , but cannot keep em all!

and another older shotgun LOL here is a nice pretty clean Ithaca Lefever grade A 12 ga as well from 1940 I think I have a bunch of pre war guns like these, just a few I have pic's handy last few yrs I think I sold about 50+ or so, all before the 1940 age mark and still selling some more LOL

Doesn't bother me that we are not having white Christmas, pushed enough snow last winter to hold me for a while. Want to wish each and every one of the great forum members a Merry Christmas! Stay safe and enjoy the company of friends and family.

Okay I’ll give you members the secret. i use Szeged steak rub on the meat. For the liquid: sautΓ©ed onions and shrooms, vegetable stock, tomato paste, Better than Bouillion seasoned vegetable base, dried parsley, bay leaf, thyme, and instead of red wine i used some sweetened cranberry relish

So if this doesnt prove honda motors are bullet proof. 5 years of beating on it non stop riding, racing, mostly on the rev limiter. Still can see cross hatching in the cylinder and cant even feel any wear on it at all. Sucks the crank clocked out on me. This topend would have lasted another 5 years easy...lol

Almost all of mine were lost in a tragic boating accident. Very unfortunate. Before that I did a little smallbore shooting, and Dad did a lot of pistol shooting when he was in the Army. Did shoot down some mistletoe this weekend with the kids

They are stacking wood for the Christmas barn fires , every year along the Mississippi River levees all thru the Acadia River Parishes , they build gigantic fires in different shapes to light the way for Noel ( Santa Claus ) to find his way down the bayou , it is a big event that has been going on forever , my brother in law lives in Luther , La which is in the heart of the festival , we have been a few times to his parties , it goes on for miles , one fire behind the other , he says he is not participating in making one this year , but his neighbors are ---- we gonna have a party here at the house , which is great with me cause it is 1 1/2 hour ride -----some people put a lot of time into buillding their fire , a 60 ft alligator , train , pelican , house , are just a few , that's a lot of wood

i just want to say this, with out confusing anyone, including me. there is a song somewhere, contains the lyric, i confuse myself. lease i know myself, know what i say is confusing. i try an go back to correct what i say, whenever i remember it, as, what i said. most places dont allow edit. after just a bit, anyway;, so, how do ya straighten up, what ya say?,, fortunate for me, you'all know, i dont always write, what i think. how my fingers can write so, when i am thinking something different. my fingers cant spell no better then i can. πŸ˜€, anyway; Happy Holidays.

On the 3rd gen , I am not sure if a high temp reading from the sensor will stop the spark or not , on a 2nd gen if the temp light comes on , the engine still runs , but looking at the way the 3rd gen is wired it may , but I doubt it , remember the 98-2000 is a different animal , the alarm box is built into the CDI and that thermo sensor wire goes into the CDI and not the kill switch like on earlier generations ---- I got one 99 and it has never run hot and has the original CDI in it as far as I know ------ I know a way to find out if it cuts the spark on high temp , if I were to pull the wire off the sensor and ground that wire and see if spark disappears I don't know if the technology was around back in 99 , but todays equipment is pretty sophisticated and when a sensor is disconnected the controller knows because the signal it is looking for is not there and will flash a code telling you , the days of by-passing things are getting harder

Haha fish..... Your one for the books .... It's not warm here.... Went from 62 yesterday to 38 this am.... and Most of you know my thoughts on climate change ....global warming, urban sprawl.....mostly BS IMO

Let me take a stab at this , the sensor is grounded when screwed into the case , at low temp , resistance inside the sensor doesn't allow the ground to go thru the sensor , when the temperature hits the predetermined degree which the sensor is set for , the ground is allow to pass thru -------- so it is grounded but only after a certain temp is reached --- I have never tried it on this application but would think , if you were to take the wire off the sensor and ground it , then the temp light should come on and that would show if there was problem with the wire or the sensor

Just found you and joined up. 2007 Foreman used around the property. Pull a tow-behind DR mower, utility trailer, and plow snow with it. Never had a problem with it, still running the original battery and tires. Live in Bremerton/Seabeck, WA.

Keep in mind the oil temp sensor Circuit does go to ground through the sensor BUT there is a specified ohm range for the sensor. Normal i think is 9.5KOhm?β€”so put a lead on the sensor connector and one on the case you should read some resistance. Have you done a circuit test on the kill switch? To access the connector you have to pull the fender and unscrew two bolts from a little plastic box forward of the steering head

The blue red ohm out at 17k ohms, however, it’s not 77degrees. I love in south ga so it’s around 60degrees when I tested it.

We can get new guns ok. I use the Cogswell because I shoot better with it than with any other gun I have tried. Turbo uses the Brno for similar reasons.

As I live in Ireland, firearms ownership for self defence is not permitted. The commonest firearms licenced here are shotguns for bird shooting and .22 rimfire rifles for small game. A lesser number of people have centrefire rifles for deer and fox shooting. Since 2008, no applications for short centrefire firearms ( pistols and revolvers) are accepted here. My main firearm is a 1902 Cogswell and Harrison 12 bore side by side assisted opening boxlock ejector. Turbo and I also each have Lanbar over and under single trigger multichoke shotguns with adjustable comb raisers. Turbo has a Brno model1 .22 rimfire made in 1947, and I have a CZ 452 made in 2009. We use these for rabbit shooting. I attach pictures of the Cogswell and the Brno. The Cogswell is now in better condition than it was when I took the attached pictures in 2015. It broke both of its firing pins in 2016 and when I had new ones made I had all of the metalwork reblued.

well been a few yrs since I hunted, got burnt out on it after 30+ yrs of 3+ months a yr hunting all over the USA and Canada, I went from one extreme to another, from hunting WAY too much to ZERO, just woke up one day and decided to call it quit's or for now any how! I have wildlife in my yard almost every hour of every day, from big things to small never hunted things near me, never seemed fair, too easy, so always liked traveling to try new places and see what I can find! TOODEEP that's a LOT of deer there in your area someone should really help put a dent in that population , too many deer, ends up causing some sort of sickness in things and can wipe out whole heard and such hunting is a good thing for healthy animals, something many NON hunters don;t get! Iv'e have many great deer hunts in SD, mostly the North west part of the state(or NE part of the state), never seen numbers like you got, but have seen a LOT of them in some places! you almost make me want to go on a hunt again! must be a few big bucks in with all them deer! LOL here is a pic of my Last SD buck, I missed judged size, but was close I always set a 145 inch goal out west on WT's and this one went 141 LOL so was close! was in a great area with much larger, should have held off however!
